Since 1979 General Devices has specialized in the design, development and manufacture of medical devices with a concentration in the area of voice and data communications equipment for Emergency Medical Services. In addition, the company has designed a wide range of devices for other companies.
Over the past 10 years GD has developed a full line of EMS communications equipment including the GEMS Series 2000 Communications Console, the GEMSCOM family of UHF and Cellular Portable Telemetry Radios, Handheld and Vehicular ECG Modulators, automated switch matrixes, as well as accessories to support these products. General Devices' equipment is represented and supported throughout the country by professional sales persons and premier radio shops.
General Devices recognizes the importance of communications to EMS. Whether it's dispatch, medical direction, telemetry or telemedicine, or whether you are using cell phones, UHF radios or landlines -- reliable, clear communications with rapid connection is always the bottom line. It is for this reason that our products have been so successful. We understand your needs and recognize that YOU, not us, determine how you practice emergency medicine. We make it our business to live up to the first line in our advertisements, "Responding... To Your Changing Needs".
As a medical device manufacturer General Devices complies with FDA regulations relating to product registration as well as FDA design and manufacturing controls and guidelines. This compliance is important to YOU, since it is not only mandatory, but also helps to ensure that all aspects of every product we supply to the EMS community is designed and built in accordance with recognized quality control standards.
All design, manufacturing, sales and service are handled from our New Jersey office. Our engineering staff is well experienced in a wide variety of technologies including: voice and data telecommunications using radio, cellular and landline phones; hardware and software for embedded controller and PC-Based systems; analog circuits and transducers; low-power battery-powered portable systems designs; thru-hole and surface mount PCB layout; portable, vehicular, hand-held and fixed location equipment packaging; special medical instrumentation considerations including hazard reduction techniques and EMI/RFI issues; etc. An illustration of these skills is presented in the listing of projects completed since the company began in 1979.
Everyone at General Devices is committed to excellence, both in the products we design and sell as well as the ongoing support we provide. As those of you who have experienced us first hand know, whenever you call you are dealing with an individual who cares. This is our commitment.
