General Devices is a leader in facilitating advanced forms of communications and telemedicine for Emergency Medical Services (EMS).  Users of General Devices' systems include NYC EMS, the City of Tucson’s ER-Link EMS Telemedicine System, all EMS resource hospitals in the City of Chicago, and many others.  General Devices has been in business since 1979 and has a well developed hardware/software engineering team.
 
The company has an immediate Co-Op opportunity for an above average, self-motivated software engineering student.  The successful candidate will collaborate with seasoned engineers on a project to develop a user-friendly data mining software application.  Other possible work may include software development for embedded computers, PCs, networking and audio and video work.
Applicant must have working knowledge of OO software design & programming, Visual C++, Visual Basic and Win 32 APIs, relational database design and administration including SQL Server, open source database, database front-end programming and data mining/reporting.

Prior work experience will be considered a plus.  Successful completion of assignments will place successful candidate in consideration for a full time position with the company.  General Devices is located in Ridgefield, New Jersey.
